A wardrobe of twelve
Our stylists on building a season from twelve pieces that all work together, and why the thirteenth is usually a mistake.

The most common thing we hear in a fitting is “I have nothing to wear” from someone with a full wardrobe. The answer is rarely another piece. It is usually fewer pieces that speak to each other.
Start with the coat
The coat is what people see from October to March. Choose it first, in a colour that works with everything: charcoal, stone or camel. Every other choice follows from it.
Two knits, two trousers, three shirts
Two knits in different weights, two trousers in different shapes, three shirts you would wear open or closed. That is already more than thirty combinations.
One dress, one jacket, one pair of shoes, one bag
The dress for the evening that needs one, a jacket that turns a knit into an outfit, and shoes and a bag good enough to repair rather than replace.
The thirteenth piece
It is usually something bought for a life you do not live. Bring it to the boutique and we will help you decide.
