Our ten-year promise, explained

Every Velane piece can come back to the workshop for ten years. What we mend, what it costs, and why we would rather repair a coat than sell you another.

We make fewer clothes than most houses our size, and we expect each of them to be worn for a long time. So every piece we sell comes with a promise: for ten years from the day you buy it, our workshop will look after it.

What we mend for free

Seams that open, buttons that fall, linings that tear at the armhole, hems that drop. Anything that is a sign of how we made the piece rather than how you wore it.

What we mend at cost

Moth holes, cuffs worn through, a coat that needs relining after a decade, knitwear that needs new elbows. We charge only the time and the material, and we tell you the price before we start.

How it works

Bring the piece to any boutique, or send it to the Lisbon workshop with the form on our client care page. Most repairs take one to two weeks. We send it back pressed, with a note of what we did.
